The Primer Nationals 2006 was a huge success.
While I was at The Cruisn’ Nationals in Paso all anyone could talk about was the upcoming Primer Nationals. All the vendors asked if “I was going to do the show”. Of course I told them “yes”. I also told them that last year’s show was very cool and I expected for the 2006 show to double in size.
Well I don’t think my guess was too far off! I was told that there were over 600 car and motorcycle entrants. There was also an area behind the vendor space that accepted all pre-70’s cars for parking. I think there was about 200 cars parked there for spectators to check out.
Just as promised there were a bunch of “live” bands playing through out the weekend. You could hear the bands from almost any place through-out the show and if the bands weren’t playing you could here the DJ spinning rockabilly, swing, classic rock and roll, and early R&B.
The vendor’s spaces included everything from artists to vintage motorcycle and car parts to yours truly ,Die Hard Die Cast. It looked as though the show went off without a hitch. Gary, John, and Jenny did a great job keeping everything organized. I know everyone thought the show was really cool. You can bet I’ll be in the vendors area next year! My only regret was that I was so busy I didn’t have time to see as much of the show as I would have liked. So next year I’ll bring some help!
Thanks to all the folks that made a purchase at this year’s show and to the spectators that stopped by to say hi and talk cars. See you next year!
